Naturactor - Pressed Powder Review

Hello pretties today’s review about this Naturactor Pressed Powder

My skin is acne-prone so I’m willing to pay a little more for something that is less likely to cause breakouts. I usually avoid buying drugstore powders because I’ve had some bad experiences with them in the past. That’s why I’m googling to search a pressed powder to give me satisfy and suited for my skin . And then while searching I saw this link  www.naturactorfoundation.com . I click that site and I saw this Naturactor Pressed Powder I purchased it immediately. Im really excited to receive the item when I’m placed my order from their site, but the delivery is a bit slow. Any way after two weeks I received the package place in the bubble wrap and inserted in plastic.

                                                Packaging

                                  Naturactor Pressed Powder

The Naturactor Pressed Powder does come in the most desirable packaging, it’s a basic round pan with a secure locking mechanism and yes, it does and will come off if you try to toss it in your makeup bag. Definitely it a travel-friendly. The compact (I can really call it a compact?) also feels very sturdy like it’s not going to crack if I drop it, and for the price? It is expensive than most of the drugstore concealers, but guess what, I’m not going to complain because this Naturactor Pressed Powder really does wonders at keeping my skin matte.

The texture of  this Naturactor Pressed Powder  isn’t silky smooth but it’s soft enough and it blends nicely without being powdery or chalky. It has a mild fragrance smell but isn’t really noticeable. I used a sponge or powder puff as well to achieve an even higher mattifying effect especially if my skin is oily to very oily. But you can also used buffer brush to apply but I think any powder brush will do the job just fine.
My skin is combination so I tend to layer more just on the T-zone and only brush lightly on the rest of my face. Another good thing is this powder layers well without looking cakey or feeling heavy. In fact, it feels very comfortable on the skin and it does seem to absorb oil amazingly well considering how light it is.

Now let's see how it works on my face:

Here's my face without Naturactor Pressed Powder,

Here's my face after first application of the Naturactor Pressed Powder

                                              Final Look

After second application of  Naturactor Pressed Powder

Differentiation from my bare skin to final final look ,great job! as you can see it absorb the oily in my face and does not look powdery or chalky it blends nicely in my face.

                   Naturactor Pressed Powder

  • Mild to the skin.
  • Less thick than a foundation
  • Very suitable for people on the go and for those who want the best coverage with minimum hassle this is the best product to use

What I like in this Naturactor Pressed Powder?
  • I can be used on its own (primer)
  • It easily hides blemishes, dark spots. has a good coverage
  • It provide a matte-like appearance
  • This makes it the ideal choice for people with oily skin -- it doesn't add more shine to the face or clog pores
  • It is good for sensitive skin with natural herbal essence.

There are four available shades which are:

#430: pinkish shade - suitable for very fair skin
#441: for malay fair skin
#451: for typical malay skin
#470: white shade/ can be concealer

Overall, i will give 4/5 stars, I really love this Naturactor Pressed Powder, i was amazed with the result.
However, for people with dry skin, this powder may not be suitable for you since it tends to emphasize and cling onto dry patches and it could also dry out your skin even more.

Naturactor Pressed Powder .

Review: NYX Hot Singles Eye Shadow in Club Crawl

I've had my eye on Club Crawl since I very first posted about the new-for-2014 eyeshadow singles from NYX last year. I actually ordered this shadow from Ulta back in March and I almost forgot to review it! I rushed to get this up today so that, if you want it, you can get it for 40% off online and in-store at Ulta (sale ends Saturday, 7/5). Instead of paying $4.49, you'll pay $2.69 this week (and there are 87 other shades in the range in case this one isn't to your liking).

NYX Hot Singles Eye Shadow in Club Crawl
(retail: $4.49, 0.053 oz)

Made in People's Republic of China

How cute is that bow?

Obviously the packaging looks very much like MAC (with the addition of that adorable bow). Standard MAC eyeshadows contain 0.05 oz. of product for $15, whereas these NYX shadows contain 0.053 oz. for $4.49. But the diameter of the pans looks almost identical to my eye. So if you de-pot these, they should fit in any of your palettes that you would normally use for MAC shadow singles.

The photo above does not really show you the fine iridescent glitter that runs throughout this shadow. Here's a macro:

Without primer, this is a cool-toned taupe-ish gray with reddish-purple undertones. It has decent pigmentation but it's a bit sheer without primer. It's also more of a satin finish without primer. Over primer, this shadow develops into a darker, shimmery gunmetal. There is a lot of iridescent glitter that you can't see above, so here's a photo I took in lower lighting--it's intentionally blurry because it's easier for my camera to pick up glitter when things are blurry:

Next, a comparison:

NYX Club Crawl vs. MAC Satin Taupe
(both shadows swatched on top of primer)

MAC Satin Taupe is a shimmery, warm-toned taupe. I wanted to show it to you next to Club Crawl not because I thought they might be dupes, but because I think this helps give you some perspective as to just how cool-toned Club Crawl really is when worn over primer.

All three swatches

Overall, this is a nice shadow, but not what I was expecting. I thought it would be more of a true, cool-toned taupe, but it actually looks more like gunmetal when worn over primer. I also had no idea that it contained fine iridescent glitter, which isn't something I like to contend with when it comes to my daytime looks (I purchased this specifically to wear in the daytime).

The texture of this shadow is smooth but I wouldn't exactly call it buttery. It's not chunky or grainy, but it is a bit powdery and I do see some fallout when picking up color with my brush (and also during application). Staying power is decent without primer (4-5 hours before I see significant fading) but of course it's much better with primer (8-9 hours before I see fading or creasing).

One more thing: if you have brown, golden-brown, hazel or green eyes, I think this color is going to make your eye color pop. I have hazel eyes and if I wasn't in such a hurry to get this review up (because NYX is on sale this week for 40% off at Ulta), I would have done an eye look to prove this. I think that the purple undertone in this shadow really complements brown/hazel/green eyes.

FINAL VERDICT: If you don't go into it hoping that this shadow is a cool-toned taupe (like I did!), then I think you'll find this to be a nice, shimmery gunmetal gray. I was initially disappointed to find that it's not a taupe, but when I got over that I discovered that I don't have too many gunmetal grays quite like this. Most of the shades I own that are like this have a metallic finish, so it's nice to have one that's not uber-shimmery. I"m not huge fan of the iridescent glitter, but it's pretty for nighttime looks. This shadow is a bit powdery and you'll see some fallout during application, but it has great pigmentation and staying power when worn over primer. I think it's definitely worth $2.69 if you get it this week for 40% off at Ulta. I'm not sure I would pay full-price ($4.49) for it again though.

TEMMY FENDER BULGARIAN ROSE WATER

Tammy Fender Bulgarian Rose Water Review
Continuing in the Tuesday Toners series, my pick for this week, the Tammy Fender Bulgarian Rose Water* is one of the most luxurious face mists that I have come across. Not only because it is a Tammy Fender product, but also because it really feels luxurious upon application.
The smell is intoxicating, delicate, and soothing. It leaves the skin feeling smooth and soft, and gives the perfect amount of hydration before applying a serum, face oil, or moisturizer. I love to use it before applying the MV Skincare Instant Revival Booster* and I find that the two products work particularly well when used together. I apply the rose water with a cotton oval by gently dabbing, and then I massage a few drops of the Instant Booster. I enjoy using it in the evening before bed, especially when my skin needs a product that is extra soothing and hydrating. This is the complete list of ingredients:
*Aqueous Extracts Of Certified Organic Rose (Rosa Damascena) Petals, Pure Bulgarian Rose (Rosa Damascena) Water (99.8 % Active), Dehydroacetic Acid And Benzyl Alcohol (Natural Preservative System), Colloidal Silver.
*Certified Organic
The two main ingredients in the mist are Bulgarian Rose Essence, which is considered a powerful rejuvenator that repairs and tones the skin, and Colloidal Silver, which is used to treat acne and skin infections.
Given that my major goal when using a toner/toning mist is actually to hydrate the skin, revitalize, and balance it, I think that Tammy Fender Bulgarian Rose Water is one of the finest in the category because it makes the skin feel and look supple, hydrated, and calm. However, at $65, it is also one of the most expensive toners. Apparently, because in order to produce one single drop of Bulgarian Rose Essence, more than seven thousands rose petals are needed.

KJAER WEIS FOUNDATION

Kjaer Weis Foundation Review SwatchesKjaer Weis Foundation & BrushKjaer Weis Foundation Photo Paper ThinKjaer Weis Foundation BrushKjaer Weis Foundation Photo
Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation*
The Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation* launched just before Christmas and you all know how excited I have been about it. Many of you have been waiting to know my thoughts about it, (thanks for your patience!) so I am going to answer the questions that you have been asking me the most and give you some tips based on my experience with it.
Prep your skin. This step is essential. The formula is creamy and “concentrated”, so the skin must be properly moisturized. A good, rich moisturizer will do the job for oily/combination skin types, while dry skin types may get better results with a face oil. I have tried both and have had equally good application. My choice of face oil at the moment is Argan Oil (I use Kahina’s), because it is non-greasy and helps to control the shine on my skin. For my moisturizer I go for the MV Skincare Rose Soothing and Protective Moisturizer. However, you may use whatever face oil/moisturizer you prefer as long as it works well for your skin. Let your moisturizer or oil sink into your skin and then start the application.
Application. My favorite way to apply this product is with the Kjaer Weis foundation brush* (or you can use any other flat, concealer brush) because the size allows you to get to even the smallest areas of the face (like around the nose).  However, I only use the brush to pick up the product and place it where I need it. I prefer to use a sponge to blend it all over my face.
Blend. I dampen my foundation sponge (I use a beautyblender) and begin to blend. Rather than rubbing the skin and dragging the product I just dab gently. This is a very important step, because blending it well makes my skin look even and naturally flawless.
Mist (optional). Dry skin types may really benefit from this step. I spritz my face lightly with a hydrating mist/toner (I have been using Kahina’s Toning Mist). It makes the skin look a bit more dewy and it is great if you need extra moisture for blending.
Shades. There are only five shades available at this time. I picked Paper Thin, which works okay for me but is not a 100% exact match. I find that this shade is slightly more peachy, rather than yellow and my undertone is completely warm/yellow. It is also slightly lighter than my skin tone. I picked my shade by looking at the swatches in the product description box at Spirit Beauty Lounge. I plan on getting the shade Illusion soon because I think that it will match me much better, especially toward the Spring (I tend to tan, even when I am wearing a sunscreen). If you cannot find a great match yet, take heart, Kjaer Weis will launch five additional shades during 2014.
Coverage & Finish. The coverage is buildable from sheer to medium. It is enough to cover redness around my nose (you can probably tell by the photo, where I am not wearing concealer). The finish is semi-matte, but luminous. Not sure if the photo gives a 100% accurate representation of how it looks in real life, but I think that the finish looks very natural. In the photo I am also not wearing any blush, highlighter, nor powder. I am only wearing eye makeup and a lipstick.

6 Lipstick Primers Tried & Tested (With Photos!)

Lipstick is that magical makeup item that can transform your whole face, even if you’re not wearing anything else. So for me, making it last is a big priority! I don’t want it to bleed out, or worse, get that ring-around-the-lips effect (pigment on the outer edges of my lips, and my natural lip color shining through in the middle). One way to keep product in place is by using a lipstick primer which is specially formulated for the lips.
Sasha Plavsic, founder of ILIA Beauty (one of my favorite lipstick brands), doesn’t typically use a primer herself, but says they do work. “It’s an extra step. Re-applying lipstick a few times a day with a tube does the job for now at my age, but primers are especially great for mature lips,” she says. Why? Because older lips are more likely to experience bleeding, and because primer can help protect the moisture-sapping effects of lipsticks. But you do want a lip-specific product, which tend to be wax-based versus the creamier primers designed for the face and eyes. “Since our lips are more moist, a face or eye primer would probably just come off quickly,” says Plavsic.
With that in mind, I decided to test six different lip primers, all designed to make color last as long as possible. The ground rules: Every morning, I applied one of the primers, let it dry, followed with Anna Sui Lipstick #401, and then snapped the “before” photo. Roughly six hours later, after sipping coffee in the morning, water all day, and eating lunch (note, I’m a diligent napkin-user), we took the “after” photos. No reapplying in between. The idea was to see how well each one wore and compare the results.

Multipurpose: bh Cosmetics Eye & Lip Primer

$11.95
Lipstick Primers: Multipurpose: bh Cosmetics Eye & Lip Primer
A multitasker that comes in the tiniest little pot, this one has the most built-in color of the group. The product is a creamy-beige tone, which really seems to brighten the shade of your lipstick (According to the package, the product “neutralizes color to bring out your makeup’s optimal shade.”) Use a brush or your finger—a little goes a long way toward creating a smooth canvas for longer-lasting color. And yep, it works really well for shadow and under eye makeup, too.

Glossiest: NP Set Lip Primer Set

$14
Lipstick Primers:Glossiest: NP Set Lip Primer Set
This primer from NP Set (the more price-friendly line from Napoleon Perdis) comes in a tube and has a sheer pink tint to it, and goes on like a glossy balm. Cocoa butter and green tea extract add to the moisturizing, soothing effect, but made me a little skeptical that it’d do much to hold my lipstick in place. But it did help! My color faded a bit after lunch and all, but I still had a stain at the end of the day. This one is supposed to give a light plumping effect, but I didn’t notice that—just extra moisture and a little extra wear. If you’re interested in hydration over lasting power, or an everyday primer, this would be a good choice.

Best All-Around: MAC Prep+Prime Lip Base

$16
Lipstick Primers: Best All-Around: MAC Prep+Prime Lip Base
Leave it to MAC to create a truly invisible lipstick primer that smoothes and defines the lips and maintains the finish of your lipstick—glossies will stay glossy, mattes will stay matte. The product comes in a simple, skinny twist tube and feels like an ordinary lip balm, light vanilla flavor included. It did the trick, helping most of the pigment last throughout the day without much feathering.

Longest Wear: Too Faced Lip Insurance

Lipstick Primers: Longest Wear: Too Faced Lip Insurance
Too Faced’s Eye Shadow Insurance is much-loved eyelid primer, and fans of that product won’t be disappointed by this lip version. After you smooth on the colorless cream with the wand applicator, it initially feels glossy before drying seconds later. You can actually feel the product setting, and then, after layering on your lipstick, see the color drying onto it. That’s when you know it’s going to work! There are anti-aging ceramides and peptides to nourish the lips, but the important thing is how well it wears; this was a standout of the bunch, for lasting power, and it made the color really pop. For special events, it’s a great lipstick primer to have in your kit.

Most Precise: Bite Beauty Line & Define Lip Primer

$22
Lipstick Primers: Most Precise: Bite Beauty Line & Define Lip Primer
This twist-style balm-in-a-pencil also has a built-in sharpener hidden the base—so genius! This means you can get a really fine point, and therefore, a perfectly shaped application. It’s the most natural of the bunch (it’s free of parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, triclosan, and GMOs) and feels hydrating but not at all slippery. The product is completely translucent, with a pleasant hint of mint, and made the color really pop initially. Throughout the day this primer kept much of the color hanging on for hours.

Line-Fighting: Mary Kay Timewise Age-Fighting Lip Primer

$23
Lipstick Primers: Line-Fighting: Mary Kay Timewise Age-Fighting Lip Primer
Mary Kay’s lip primer is packed with antioxidants and skin conditioners, which makes it ideal for aging and sensitive lips. In a stick applicator, it looks and feels like a silky, translucent balm. It helps to smooth out fine lines and even out the surface of the lips, and is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines over time with regular use. In the one-day test, it wasn’t the stickiest of the bunch, but it helped my lipstick hold and made my lips feel smooth.
The overall verdict? All six of these generally lived up to their claim, at least somewhat! My trusty Anna Sui red lasted a lot longer than it does on its own. Especially for special events, I think a primer is well worth the investment—it’ll make your color more vibrant and even, and help it stay put. So are there any DIY lip-priming tricks? According to Plavsic, if you exfoliate your lips before applying, lipsticks with strong pigment should last longer. “It’s the same way we prep the complexion; by exposing new skin, it will absorb color well,” she says. To do it, use a toothbrush or washcloth to lightly exfoliate, or try an exfoliator like ILIA’s.
